Live Music

Post  Spyke on Tue Sep 29, 2009 3:17 pm

So, has anyone apart from me been to see a live band anywhere at anytime?
I reckon its one of life's essentials to see a live band but I'm a music fanaticist.
Now here's my list:

Trivium
Iron Maiden
Iced Earth
Heaven and Hell (Dio Black Sabbath)
Yngwie Malmsteen
M.S.G.
Scorpions
Wishbone Ash
Quireboys
Machinehead
Metallica
Megadeth
Testament
Judas Priest
Doro
Saxon
UFO
(now its to come lol)
Motorhead
Alice Cooper
Anvil

Daaaaaamn, nice list you got there. I'm poor and never have a lot of time anyway, so I've been to a total of 3 concerts;

Linkin Park
Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Elton John and Billy Joel duel concert

Not a lot, but I cherished each one. I'll probably see TSO again this winter, since they come to Cleveland every christmas.

*sigh* I WISH I could have seen some of those bands you did.

There are many bands I wish to see. Metallica was a huge bonus as the last time they came here was in the 90s. Megadeth, Quireboys and Wishbone Ash come every now and again, Alice Cooper does so as well.
The rest were sheer luck or I had to travel to Glasgow like for Priest.

Lol, go for it! I'm aiming to get tickets to see DIO in Manchester or Glasgow in November and to see Amon Amarth in Newcastle University.

I'm having to travel to see him (again, Heaven and Hell is Black Sabbath with Dio as the singer) I don't like travelling for too long, its hell been stuck in a car for too long...

lol tell me about it. I took a cross country roadtrip this summer, was stuck in the car for 12 hours straight. I'll probably have to do another 8 or so for our first mock trial tournament.

But good music? Come on, so worth it. Make sure you're with a good friend and it'll be a blast!

Well being in the car with a parent can be a pain for long periods of time. But you could go with a friend next time.

been suggested that I should go see an old rock band called Y&T, my dad speaks highly of them and reckons I should go.
Might be another date to add to my list!

I've seen a few unknown local bands and such play in the bars around here. I keep missing out on the chance to see Blue Gillespie though as something always comes up that conflicts with their dates And when I was a teenager I was forever going to the local radio station's roadshows for upcoming pop acts.

Here's the concerts of 'known' (depending on your age/location/musical taste) artists that I've been too:
Shakin Stevens (my first when I was four)
PJ & Duncan (oh how I love Ant and Dec ^_^)
Boyzone
Wheatus
Bryan Adams (my last over five years ago)

I had also wanted to go to concerts of Take That, Steps and Space but never got the chance

Nowadays, music isn't that important to me as it once was. I despise a lot of the current sh*t that passes as music and with the growth of the internet and downloads, the charts are now meaningless.

This is me and some friends performing at the Amphitheatre nearby for a college gig last month. I'm on bass and vocals for this, was fun!

Awesome! What's the name of your band again?

I haven't been to many live concerts, certainly nothing big-name. I mostly go to concerts of local bands in upstate New York and Vermont, like Wood's Tea Company, Bear Tracks, Le Vent Du Nord, Minor Adjustments, stuff like that. I once went to a really good Beatles imitation concert ^_^

My band has 2 names, only one of the dudes there is in the band. That was just a college gig.
Solar Flare for the band as a cover band for pubs and Culloden for an originals band!

I'm off to see Blitzkrieg on saturday!
